The Armonk Center of Dance Inc. is a home away from home for over 800 dancers weekly. Established in a church hall in 1994 by Heather and Alan Conway, Armonk Dance has a new home in an 8,000 square-foot facility at 28 Kaysal Court, Armonk. The center, now celebrating its tenth year, will have four state-of-the-art studios, a dancewear boutique, and a 1200 square-foot lobby. The Organization
The Armonk Nursery School is a private non-profit, non sectarian nursery school, registered by the State of New York and established as a community service of the Armonk United Methodist Church. It is located in the Armonk United Methodist Church, 3 Bedford Road, in the center of Armonk and has classes for two, three, and four year olds. The Nursery School is adminstered by a Nursery Committee who, with the director, the staff, and other professionals, manage the program objectives and the financial structure of the organization. There are two teachers in each classroom. The lead teacher holds a New York State teaching certificate, and she is responsible for the program planning for her room. The assistant teachers are experienced persons who are totally interested in young children and who are, in some cases, certified or working toward their certification.
The Goal
It is the aim of the nusery school to create an atmosphere of love and concern in which the child can learn to know the world as a place of wonder. We acknowledge the importance of teaching the preschooler about the world in which they live, and strive to guide them as they seek their own identity, develop initiative, and grow in the knowledge of their own abilities and an understanding of others. Play is the highest phase of child development. This absorbing, total play of childhood will develop the feelings, creativeness, insight, and self-determination so necessary to sustaining the children as they grow. While we realize that the four year old is indeed ready for some formal instruction, we do not feel obligated to impose scholastic standards upon them. The teacher moves into scholastic pursuits only for the child's enjoyment and in answer to their inquiry. If the child develops a freedom of expression and a sense of wonder at what surrounds them, we believe that learning will always be fun for them.

The Armonk Center of Dance Inc. is a home away from home for over 800 dancers weekly. Established in a church hall in 1994 by Heather and Alan Conway, Armonk Dance has a new home in an 8,000 square-foot facility at 28 Kaysal Court, Armonk. The center, now celebrating its tenth year, will have four state-of-the-art studios, a dancewear boutique, and a 1200 square-foot lobby. The lobby has a sibling play area and thoroughout the building security cameras exists. Armonk Center for Dance takes pride in providing the community with only the best in dance education while feeling like part of a family in a nurturing environment. The Center offers classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip-Hop, and Pointe. The programs start at age three and go through the professional level. All of our classes participate in our annual Dance Recitals. The Center also offers students ages 9 and up to audition annually for the performing companies and competition teams. These groups perform at charitable events as well as regional competions. The Armonk Center for Dance also has a six-week summer Performing Arts Camp for

The Organization
The Armonk Nursery School is a private non-profit, non sectarian nursery school, registered by the State of New York and established as a community service of the Armonk United Methodist Church. It is located in the Armonk United Methodist Church, 3 Bedford Road, in the center of Armonk and has classes for two, three, and four year olds. The Nursery School is adminstered by a Nursery Committee who, with the director, the staff, and other professionals, manage the program objectives and the financial structure of the organization. There are two teachers in each classroom. The lead teacher holds a New York State teaching certificate, and she is responsible for the program planning for her room. The assistant teachers are experienced persons who are totally interested in young children and who are, in some cases, certified or working toward their certification.
The Goal
It is the aim of the nusery school to create an atmosphere of love and concern in which the child can learn to know the world as a place of wonder. We acknowledge the importance of teaching the preschooler about the world in which they live, and strive to guide them as they seek their own identity, develop initiative, and grow in the knowledge of their own abilities and an understanding of others. Play is the highest phase of child development. This absorbing, total play of childhood will develop the feelings, creativeness, insight, and self-determination so necessary to sustaining the children as they grow. While we realize that the four year old is indeed ready for some formal instruction, we do not feel obligated to impose scholastic standards upon them. The teacher moves into scholastic pursuits only for the child's enjoyment and in answer to their inquiry. If the child develops a freedom of expression and a sense of wonder at what surrounds them, we believe that learning will always be fun for them.

The Anita Louise Ehrman Recreation Center is a prized jewel in the hamlet of Armonk and an incomparable resource for residents of all ages in the Town of North Castle. Each summer season for forty years the Ehrman Pool has come alive as the setting where joyful laughter fills the air and long-cherished childhood memories are created for the hundreds of youngsters passing through its 1960s-style "retro-cool" entrance. Longtime town residents today refer to the Ehrman Pool as their "second home", recalling their youthful days when they couldn't wait to be dropped off for a summer's day of fun that seemed to end all too soon. Thankfully, that tradition carries on and continues to grow with each season and each new generation that joins.
Located on a pastoral 12-acre setting minutes from the heart of downtown Armonk, the Ehrman Pool opens on the Memorial Day weekend and stays open every day through the Labor Day weekend. The swim club continues to operate as a private, non-profit enterprise (501c3), just as it has since 1964 when it was established by the Anita Louise Ehrman Trust. It is governed by vested volunteers who comprise the board of directors.
The swim club also derives revenues from fees paid by the Town of North Castle, which uses the facilities weekday mornings as part of its Parks & Recreation summer Camp Chippewa programs. In 1965 the Ehrman Pool opened to become a summer mainstay for families, seniors, married couples and singles who seek a complete and satisfying swim experience---whether it's for competition, practice, lap swimming, diving, general exercise or leisurely sun bathing. Best of all, the Ehrman Pool strives to ensure a comfortable and respectful private-club atmosphere in a safe and secure member-friendly environment.
An all-new pool arrives in 2006! Plans are now being finalized for a completely redesigned heated swimming pool and recreation complex.
